Why *you* should be concerned about NSA/GCHQ/FRA/…surveillance

An excellent article in Guardian by John Lanchester on why it should be of concern to you, more than ever before,  even if you are “innocent” and have “nothing to hide”,  that our governments are capable of tracking not only all of our communications, but even our locations, actions, moves and ultimately, thoughts.

“We are right on the verge of being an entirely new kind of human society, one involving an unprecedented penetration by the state into areas which have always been regarded as private.”

“…the state is about to get powers that no state has ever had, and we need to have a public debate about those powers and what their limits are to be.”

Do we really want that kind of society ?
