The Grandiosity of modern business & society

Professor Mats Alvesson talking about the Grandiosity of modern business & society, where  image matters more than reality, a fancy web-site displaying all the politically correct disclaimers and slogan’s about environmental policies etc is more important than getting the real job done, where a bombastic title matters more than  actual knowledge, experience and skills,  where every role – -because we now live in the “knowledge society“, no less – within the organization,   including the janitor,  needs an academic degree and impressive sounding theoretical certification,  where every Dilbert-style manager refers to himself as a leader, where talk, decisions and actions are fully disjunct, and where truth is relative.
